| Normally, I give out guides on geekier stuff. VFX. Photoshop. Hacking. etc. Today, I'll be teaching the basics. For the computer basics newbies. Like Cho. .bmp: Bitmap. Bitmaps are good to use, because they aren't compressed. Bitmaps are among the best. .png: Portable Network Graphics(unofficially called by geeks PNG's Not GIF). PNG use a lossless type of compression, so no image is lost, plus they have "empty backgrounds" as I call it. Like, when you're in photoshop, there's a checkered background? Yeah. That's see-through. .gif: Graphics Interchange Format. These are only good for animations. In it's limited palette, it posterizes images. .jpg: JPEG (Named after Joint Photogaphic Experts Group). JPEGs are the most used image format. However, they use a lossy compression. So, don't use them too much. You can control what you lose sometimes, but please just don't overuse them. Once a week. Deal?
That's all. Requests below. | |
